11/17/2023 0 Comments Radium fuel pulse damper installMy regulator is BIG and allows a lot of flow as it was designed to do CARB as well as PI. But after some more fiddling I believe I know what part of the issue is at least why mine is more pronounced. Welp the noise is back, still not as loud but still annoying. Here is the cabin, you can hear it at idle and see what it sounds like under light throttle. Here is the Gauge and how it looks at idle. I will then try it will the PI rail involved. I will adjust pressure and see how it does. Like the image below but without the PI rail at first. I am also going to re-route my setup so that the FPR is before the HPFP and on a single line removing the Y adapter. Jumper the Fuel Pump Resistor "thing on the frame rail that says hot don't touch" Was hoping this would keep the pump and full power and it would not pulse, it did not help. This did not change anything and might have made it more prevlant. It is noisy but the car seems to run without issue. This pulse can be both heard and felt in the return line. The issue I have noticed is that the FPR is pulsing, it will pulse + or - 3psi at idle. I thought I was alone in this but it appears that and have similar issues. Both FPD designs are resistant to corrosion from all fuel types including popular alcohol blends such as E85. This is commonly experienced as mysterious lean spots and stumbling during acceleration or erratic idle that is difficult to correct through EMS tuning. Hydraulic pulses from the fuel pump and the opening and closing of injectors can create undesirable noise and possible interference with injector flow. Both fuel pulse dampers are available in direct mount versions that install on a fuel rail and inline versions for use with dead-end fuel systems or that use fuel rails without a port to receive a fuel pulse damper. Radium’s FPD-XR fuel pulse damper is designed for vehicles with base fuel pressure between 43-78 PSI and the compact FPD-R fuel pulse damper is designed for vehicles with base fuel pressure between 40-45 PSI.
